Hey girl, I’m Ashley!

Can I be honest? I started Bloom almost 10 years ago and it ended almost as soon as it started because life was, well,...life-ing if you know what I mean! It started as a monthly bible study at a coffee shop with a small group of trusted friends and schoolmates (I was attending Dallas Theological Seminary at the time). We gathered to study the bible, pray, encourage one another, and to choose an event where we could serve others.
Life became more difficult over the years since those first few Bloom meet-ups and I forgot just how formative gathering with other believers is to our spiritual growth. I was still connected to an amazing local church (and I still am), but I was suffering in silence. I had gotten away from authentic community. I forgot just how important it is to be connected to women who are pursuing Jesus through life's hardships. I'd forgotten that I was responsible for cultivating those relationships through vulnerability, mutual submission, and collective growth.
After a while, those hardships caught up with me and took a serious mental toll. I considered giving it all up, but God gave me the strength to dial a friend in the darkest hour and I was rescued from going down a deep hole that I fear I wouldn't have returned from. In those months following, I was reminded that not only do I need to cultivate that space for myself in a consistent and official capacity, but that I was called to create that space for other women - a space for women to flourish together.
I’m confident that spiritual growth is a group project (Eph 4:15-16), and Bloom is committed to this mission by creating a space for women to collectively care for one another, to collectively disciple one another, and collectively grow. My prayer is for us to be firmly planted in the Bible, for us to dig deeper roots with one another by inviting others into our dirt/mess, and for us to bloom into all God has created us to be through love and good works (Heb 10:23-25, Eph 2:10).
I’m grateful and honored that you’ve read this far 😂, and if you decide to connect with us in any capacity - whether it's through content, events, or resources - just know I’m glad you’re here and I’m praying for you. Let’s flourish together, sis.
